Unzer Grows Revenue and Adds More Than 5,000 Merchants in 2025

Berlin, October 12, 2026 – Unzer, a leading European provider of payment and software solutions, increased revenue by 2% to €225.1 million in 2025 (2024: €220.5 million). Adjusted EBITDA amounted to €30.0 million. Reported EBITDA was additionally impacted by one-off transformation and restructuring expenses, as well as other exceptional costs from previous years. During the year, Unzer continued to invest in new products and technology while expanding its business in key areas.

Many small and medium-sized businesses continued to face a difficult economic environment during the year, which led to lower transaction volumes among some of Unzer's existing merchants. Even so, the company grew its merchant base by more than 5,000 businesses. Unified Commerce was one of Unzer's strongest business areas in 2025. The company's software suite grew by 35%, while its software and payment bundles more than doubled, reflecting strong demand for integrated commerce solutions.

Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer, said: “2025 was tough for many of our merchants, and we felt that too. When our merchants do well, we do well. We work closely with them to help them digitalise their businesses and make everyday work easier. It encourages me to see that so many more businesses chose Unzer.”

Expanding the Business

Building on its 2025 results, Unzer has continued to add new products and services in 2026. In March this year, the company launched Unzer Financial Services, combining a business account, commercial card and payment solutions in one service. Merchants can manage payments, banking and spending in one place, giving them a clearer view of their cash flow and making everyday banking easier.

In Germany, Unzer strengthened its presence in eastern Germany by acquiring AllCash. The deal adds more than 500 payment terminals to Unzer's network and brings the company's products to more merchants across the region.

In Denmark, the company launched its in-store point-of-sale solution, building on the online payments business already established through its subsidiaries Quickpay and Clearhaus. Merchants can now use one provider for both online and in-store payments.

Clearhaus also became the first Danish acquirer to launch a Payment Facilitator (PayFac) solution. It allows software platforms and marketplaces to offer payments directly to their merchants, while Clearhaus processes the payments behind the scenes. This makes it easier for platforms to offer payments as part of their own service while helping merchants get started more quickly.

Building Trust

Alongside new products, Unzer also continued to invest in compliance and information security. At the beginning of 2026, the company was awarded the ISO 37301 certification for its compliance management system and the ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system.

Max Steiger, Chief Compliance and Governance Officer at Unzer, said: “Trust is essential in payments. These certifications confirm that we have strong processes in place today. They also help ensure we continue to meet the same high standards as our business grows.”

Looking Ahead

Unzer expects the market to remain challenging in 2026, particularly for many small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, the company continues to see demand for solutions that bring payments, software, and financial services together.

Building on the progress made over the past year, Unzer will keep investing in new products and services. Later this year, the company plans to launch Tap to Pay, which will allow merchants to accept contactless payments directly on compatible Android smartphones without additional hardware.

Unzer is also investing in artificial intelligence to improve products, simplify internal processes, and support merchants more effectively. In July, Unzer appointed Isabelle Bénard as Chief Product & AI Officer, bringing product strategy and AI under one role.

“Merchants need payments and software that work together and make their business easier to manage. Our job is to make the boring stuff easier, so they can focus on their customers and growing their business.”
